Laptop speed – Kicking It Up A Notch

BLD067602Is your laptop showing signs of slowing down? Is it too sluggish to handle your numerous tasks? Then you may need to boost your laptop’s speed. Granted that you have the latest operating system installed, the thing is, performance is still better than appearance. Your laptop is less powerful than a desktop. Meaning, you are more prone to certain problems that a desktop can usually take. It’s even more susceptible to slow performance if not maintained well. There are ways to enhance your laptop’s speed. Here’s how.

Having the latest operating system has its advantages, but it also has its downside. Yes, the stunning visual feature is impressive and is striking to look at. This means the processor and the video card is working on a heavier load thus resulting to a slower speed. And nobody likes a slothful laptop.

Optimizing your laptop’s resources and performance rather than the visual feature is a good idea. One way to hasten the pace is to deactivate the visual extras. To do this, click on Start, then go to Control Panel. Look for the System icon. Double click it. Once you are in, click the Advanced tab. You will see your laptop’s Performance in there. Click Settings and uncheck the unnecessary options. When you are happy with the settings, click OK. Your laptop’s speed should be up a notch by now.

If nothing has changed, it may be wise to choose the lowest settings for your laptop. This will make your windows unsightly but it will certainly boost your speed.
