Mac or PC?

This has been frequently asked by anyone looking to buy a new computer. In both camps, there had been valid points made. But which one really is better?
Many users claim that Mac is much easier to use than PC. This is because new models of Macs have built in video tutorials and its Mac operating system is simpler to understand. However, some users complain that some tasks such as moving your iPhoto and iTunes libraries to an external drive can be quite complicated and if you don’t follow the steps correctly, you might end up losing all your music and photo files.
On the other hand, Macs don’t have the constant freeze-ups and “error†messages like what usually happens with Windows. Recently though, Windows doesn’t have much of those problems anymore. But Mac certainly wins when it comes to being user-friendly.
When it comes to media features, Mac has Front Row which has a menu wherein you can browse and play your videos, pictures and music files using a remote control. On the other hand, PC has Windows Media Center or WMC included in Vista which also lets you access your media files from an onscreen menu like Mac. Many users say WMC is much user-friendly than Mac’s Front Row.
When it comes to boot-up speed, Mac’s has a considerably quicker start-up. But the speed once it is running still depends on different factors like the number of programs you have running to how much memory you have installed.
When it comes to hardware, both camps have several models to choose from. All Mac computers are made by the Apple Company and at present there are six models to choose from for laptops and desktops: MacBook Air, MacBook, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, iMac, and the Mac Pro. The designs are slick and stylish but adding custom add-ons can be quite expensive and complicated. But for PC, the hardware choices seem endless.
Now for the verdict: When it comes to keyboard comfort and overall design, Mac has the edge. But recently, PC is catching up with both Mac’s slick design and innovation front.
So which one do you think is better? It’s your call. At the end of the day, it all boils down to your personal tastes, needs and budget.
